Don't decide right now, just let it marinate for a while

Evolution of an idea

A memorable quote from the 2001 movie Kissing Jessica Stein is where the character Helen says: Don't decide right now, just let it marinate for a while.

Here at PFEIFER, Leonhard and I too like to ‘let an idea marinate’ in our minds for some time, until it is ready to be useful or evolve into its final conclusion.

I often joke with Leonhard that the furniture and pieces we design take exactly 7 years to reach the market. I guess that is the peril of all creatives working in the commercial industry. Ideas have to be teased out and tested, often waiting for the market to be ready.  Artists are visionaries and novel ideas that shock are great attention grabbing devices, but on a commercial level this is not always the best strategy and ideas that get press often do not end up being the best selling pieces.

BAUMWELL slab desk is one of these products that was left to marinate.

Perfect as a work from home desk (it looks just as good from the front as it does from behind) BAUMWELL is also a functional console or entry piece. The gently faceted edges of the asymmetric hexagonal desktop tuck in at the sides for easy maneuvering around your space.

BAUMWELL slab desk is produced from solid European oak and available for retail from otto.de
