Brand to watch. Grand Design Magazine May 2014

Phew, what a great write up on my range launched with DoroBanti

Brand to watch

It’s rare that a debut collection is quite as strong and vast as that of furniture company DoroBanti – it has launched 52 pieces in five ranges. Our favourite is the Clapham, which marries organic curves with quality solid oak. Pictured below, the Clapham desk (H76xW129xD46cm) is £195.

Our Affoltern Dining Table and Danja chairs for DoroBanti mentioned in Telegraph Magazine Design Notebook by David Nicholls (12 April 2014).

"The east London-based designer Leonhard Pfeifer has launched a range for DoroBanti, a new Romanian furniture brand. The Affoltern dining table (£895) and Danja chairs (£255 each) are made from solid oak and enlivened with cheerily painted struts and stretchers."

An Inaugural Furniture Collection Designed by Leonhard Pfeifer

Affoltern Dining Table and Danja Chair with colored struts

DoroBanti is a new line of contemporary furniture created in collaboration with UK based designer Leonhard Pfeifer. The 52-piece collection for living and sleeping spaces is made of solid timber with a range of naturalistic finishes. The subtle curves, pops of color, and detailed joints add a fun sparks of personality and really brings these designs to life.

Affoltern Dining Set Serves Up Vibrant Details for Flavorful Decor
Published: Jan 29, 2014

It is certainly possible to mix traditional design with contemporary flair, and this is precisely what was done with the development of the Affoltern dining table and the Danja dining chairs. This collection of kitchen furnishings has been made from solid oak wood to take forms familiar from generations passed.

Leonhard Pfeifer worked with manufacturer DoroBanti to make pieces with the lovely details of turned struts and braces. It's these subtly sculptural structural elements that the designer decided to paint, transforming them into vivid visual accents that make them unquestionably modern. The Affoltern dining set is sure to charm the young and the old and even those with typically differing preferences for decorative styles.
